Guest Chef/Instructor

By day I work for a John Deere Dealership and in my spare time I attend The International Culinary Schools at The Art Institute of Tampa.  I’ve always had a passion for baking and had considered the culinary field while I was in high school but chose computers instead.  Through the years I have always been the person in the office that everyone would turn to make cakes and was even nicknamed “Betty Crocker”.  About three years ago I found & fell in love with the Rolling Pin. I quickly became an assistant.  It has opened my culinary palate and made me realize I how much I wanted more. That’s when I enrolled in culinary school.  When I first started all I wanted to do was pastries until I took the Artisan Bread class.  I had a new love, bread!  Nothing compares to bread fresh out of the oven, which you mixed, shaped, & baked.  Last quarter I finally took the advice of Chef Dave and changed my major from the diploma to the degree program, which includes culinary classes.  My first class was Fundamentals of Classic Cuisine and my instructor was Chef Gui Alinat.  Someday I hope to be as good as my two favorite chef’s.
