Chef
Born in the Tampa Bay Area, Viet began cooking at the age 14 at the county fair with his uncle, and ever since then food has been his passion. From watching his mom roll egg rolls for the neighbors or for her co-workers, or watching the family make traditional dishes for family gatherings, he has always surrounded himself by watching others cook.
After various restaurant opportunities throughout the Tampa Bay area, Viet decided to hone his skills at The Art Institute of Tampa. While at The Art Institute, he had the opportunity as an opening team member of the AAA 4-Diamond rated Sandpearl Resort, as their sushi chef. As part of his responsibilities, he trained and developed the staff in the art of sushi, and built a successful following of sushi “aficionados”.
Throughout his culinary career, Viet has found success as a sushi chef, a restaurant consultant, and more recently as a culinary instructor. He is always looking for opportunities to not only improve his skills, but ways to share them with others
